The Geek Squad® home theater installation pros did their magic. The customer is thrilled. Now it’s the job of the Elite Service Specialist to make the adjustments necessary for an outstanding video and sound experience to get even better.
The ESS is the resident guru of home theater installation and technology optimization. Services provided range from calibrating televisions, to programming complex remotes, to consulting on emerging technologies such as home automation, home theater networking, and distributed audio.
The ESS is also heavily involved in custom or otherwise-hairy installations that require the highest levels of skill to pull off.
- • Complete home theater and satellite component delivery and installations at customers’ homes and offices, including both standard and custom work
- • Optimize home theater-related products, including connecting cables, HDTV calibration and remote control programming
- • Test completed projects and train customers on their operation
- • Keep call center or retail store apprised of scheduling and project status
- • Support in-store sales and customer service
- • Act as a team lead for technical installation questions
- • High school diploma or equivalent
- • SBAC/CEDIA Certification or more than five years experience performing home theater installation
- • 1 - 3 years experience with on-site customer service
- • 1 - 3 years retail experience
- • 1 - 3 years or PC service experience
- • 1 - 3 years experience using television service menus, either for calibration or general television repair
- • Proficiency in all Microsoft software and suites
- • Appropriate certifications and licenses according to State law
- • Solid understanding of the concepts of photographic color and light
- • Current valid driver’s license and clear driving record
- • 2- or 4-year technical degree
