Geek Squad Protection Plan Details

    If you drop or spill on your device in the course of normal use, we'll cover the cost of your repair.
    We fix defects in materials, workmanship and failures such as those due to dust, internal heat and humidity.
    If the original rechargeable battery fails to hold a charge, we'll replace it.
    We handle the repair costs for equipment failure due to a power surge or fluctuation.
    If your pixels start looking weird or a shadow image sticks, we'll get your screen back to pristine.
    If your smartphone is lost or stolen, you are covered with the purchase of the Loss and Theft coverage.

    Claim Limits
    There is a limit of 3 claims within a rolling 24 months for claims relating to the Drops, Spills and Defects coverage. If the claim is for Loss and Theft, there is a claim limit of 2 claims within a rolling 12 months.

    *Drops, Spills and Defects covers damage as a result of unexpected and unintentional drops and spills that arise from normal usage of the product as the manufacturer intended. Abuse, misuse and fraud are not covered. Coverage for Drops and Spills is also referred to as Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH).

    **Lost and Theft coverage sold in select stores only. Check your plan for specific coverage details. A deductible will apply to all Loss and Theft insurance claims and the amount shall be based on the non-discounted Best Buy retail price of the covered device at the time of purchase. Loss and Theft insurance can also be purchased separately - not part of a Geek Squad Complete Protection Plan. Loss and Theft insurance is provided by AIG. Please refer to the Insurance Certificate of Coverage for details. Loss and Theft insurance is not available in North Dakota. For claims and information on your Loss and Theft protection, call 1-866-205-4388 between 8am - 8pm CST. All claims must be filed within 60 days of incident.

    A Service Fee will apply to all claims and the amount shall be based on the non-discounted Best Buy retail price of the covered device at the time of purchase. This Plan excludes the following from coverage: accessories, defects that are covered during the manufacturer’s warranty period, defects or damage caused by abuse, misuse or complete liquid submersion. Please refer to the actual terms and conditions for a complete description of the limitations of each.

    Every Geek Squad Protection Plan is different and every product has specific plan coverage.     Geek Squad Protection Plans must be purchased with the product or within 15 days by visiting a store.
