Using the Charms Bar in Windows 8
2 Minute Miracle

OBJECTIVE

A major change to the way users interact with Windows 8 is the introduction of the "Charm bar." Available in all apps in the OS, the Charms bar is sort of a meta-menu, a way to perform many of the fundamental actions available in the program. It's kind of a combination of the old Control Panel and Search combined with functionality that allows users to easily share content. Charming, isn't it?

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • A PC running Windows 8

PROCEDURE

Accessing the Charms Bar:
  • Using Touch, swipe in from the right side of the screen
  • Using a mouse, move the mouse to the upper right, or lower right corner of the screen
  • Using the keyboard, press the Windows Key and C together.
