Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) status has become the quality standard among vehicle electronics installers. Many customers also request MECPs to perform their home theater installations.

Best Buy Certified Autotechs who pass the MECP Basic Exam – and are proficient with installing and servicing car stereo components, speakers, amplifiers, portable audio, GPS devices, keyless entry systems and security systems, along with basic OEM systems – will be promoted to the MECP Basic Certified Autotech job level.

Responsibilities

• Install mobile electronics to Geek Squad® quality standards
• Provide technical assistance to customers
• Schedule appointments
• Sell installation kits, parts, accessories and add-on components
• Provide administrative support in the installation bay
• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
